Triangular Plot

The above image is an example of a triangular plot; it depicts Hmax off Kauai for various slip allocations between three Aleutian sources.  A triangular plot is a barycentric plot on three variables, which sum to a constant. It graphically depicts the ratios of three variables as positions in an equilateral triangle. It is used in physical chemistry, petrology, mineralogy, and other physical sciences to show compositions of systems composed of three species.
