Box Plot

The above image is an example of a box plot. A box plot is also known as a box-and-whisker diagram. This is a convenient way of graphically depicting groups of numerical data through five number summaries. Boxplots display differences between populations without making any assumptions of the underlying statistical distribution. The spacing between the different summaries helps to indicate the degree of dispersion and skewedness in the data, and identify outliers.
