also known as a box-and-whisker diagram. This is a convenient way of
graphically depicting groups of numerical data through five number summaries. Boxplots
display differences between populations without making any assumptions of the
underlying statistical distribution. The spacing between the different
summaries helps to indicate the degree of dispersion and skewedness in the
data, and identify outliers.
