Hypsometric Maps

Hypsometric maps are maps that depict the configuration of the earth’s surface, called the relief, by means of contours, form lines, hachures, shading, tinting, or relief models. They are most common in small-scale topographic maps. This is an example of a digital hypsometric map that shows the configuration of the earth’s surface with different shading.
